Making in Schools

Informal discussions and sharing of how schools are 'making' it happen. Idea sharing and mentoring each other on how making is happening and can happen in core subjects, electives and after-school. What programs and support have be leveraged and what is available? Some discussion topics could be kick-started with a brief overview of what a teacher, mentor or program has done.

This would be amazing. I've been working with others to develop a STEAM program in Gainesville, FL for a while.

Grants are a good option for schools without appropriate funding. I would love to share how we at Two Bit Circus Foundation go about gathering funding, installing and educating schools on how to get and make the most of STEAM Labs!

I love this idea and wonder how many educators will be in attendance. How can we make sure they are represented well even if they cannot attend?

Thanks to DoDEA grant funding, we've got makerspaces in all 9 of our school buildings. I think we'll always feel they are in development- with making there is never a "done" feeling when it comes to tools, resources, training, etc. We're forever learning and "in progress" and that's terrific!

I use lots of maker activities with elementary level students at three Santa Fe schools and would love to help facilitate this!
